7 a side Soccer

Our primary 7 boys went to the showgrounds this morning to take part in the Ballymena

Primary Schools Junior Cup. Right from the start they played some fantastic football working

hard for each other and playing unselfishly as a team.

They won three of their group games against Carnaughts PS (4-0), Hazelbank PS (2-0) and

The Diamond PS (1-0) and drew against Moorfields (0-0) and Portglenone Primary School

(1-0).

They progressed to the semi finals beating Groggan PS (2-0) and it was our neighbours

Portglenone PS that we faced in the final. A hard fought game with two evenly matched

teams finished 0-0 after normal and extra time. They missed out narrowly when it went to

penalties but we are incredibly proud of all the boys once again. They showed brilliant

sportsmanship and should be very happy with their performances.
