Girls Netball
The P5, P6 and P7 netballers took part in a tournament today in Magherafelt. Playing in Meadowbank Sports Arena in 31 degree temperatures and in 5 matches each! This was the first competitive matches for some of our P6 and P5 girls and they were fantastic winning 1 match and drawing in another. The improvement in skills for every single player was fantastic. Our A team won 4 matches and lost 1 match by 1 goal! Coming in second overall in the tournament and behind by just 1 point.
The matches were umpired today by International player Lisa Bowman. The girls got to meet her and she was fantastic coaching them through out. Lisa has played for the Northern Ireland netball team for many years and has trevelled the world representing Northern Ireland. In the recent European Championships she helped Northern Ireland secure 2nd place and was awarded player of the tournament. She is not long back from playing in the Commonwealth Games a few months back.
Well done to all today.
