Outdoor Play

31 Jan 2019
What a wonderful start we have had to the new year! Santa certainly did come early in 2019! We have been trying to get our outdoor learning area developed and work has already starting taking shape.  Francis McGrogan, one of our P1 parents, made a super work-station and seat area with cooker hob, shelves and storage cupboards for our ‘mud kitchen’ area.  Paul Bateson another P1 parent then made us two picnic seated areas where we can dine, play table top games and lots more activities.  A massive THANK-YOU to both parents; both pieces of equipment will prove to be essential focal areas for our future outdoor experiences.  Also a massive THANK-YOU to everyone who sent in kitchen utensils, bowls, pots, pans etc. We have already had so much fun making, pouring, measuring and lots more.  Not only have we enjoyed the new play equipment but the children at Portglenone Primary had the pleasure of exploring them during our Shared Education play dates as well!  Keep your eyes peeled for future developments and if anyone else has any more ideas, suggestions or special skills to help in this area please contact Mrs Martin through the school office!
