P4 Visit the Library

21 Nov 2019

On Thursday 21st November we visited the local library.  Deirdre from the library invited us down to learn all about how the library works.  She even told us that we could borrow up to 9 books at a time and it wouldn't cost us a penny.  On the first visit we looked at how the fiction books were organised, they are all in alphabetical order using the authors surname, Deirdre tested our ordering skills by giving us letters that were mixed up and we had to sort them, she was very impressed.  Some of us were joining the library for the very first time so we got nice new library cards.  When we were all sorted with a library card we had to split in to 2 groups.  One group was going to choose 2 books to take home and the other group had to complete an activity and then we swapped.  On the second visit we were learning about the non fiction section and it was much harder but we got there.  Our last visit was very exciting because we got to read Christmas stories and sing some Christmas songs.  We really enjoyed that.
