Saffron Cup Champions 2026

A huge congratulations to our primary 6 and 7 boys who were victorious in the SW Antrim Cumann na mBunscol Saffron Cup competition. The A and B teams both excelled getting better as the competition progressed. The format was the aggregate score from both halves. 

They boys played well in the group beating St Patrick’s Rasharkin, St Comgalls Antrim and St Brigid’s Ballymena. They were beaten by St Oliver Plunkett Primary School in the group stages and they were to meet them them again in the final. It was a hotly contested game with great skills and healthy determination on both sides. The game went to extra time with the St Mary’s Portglenone boys working so well together to win the cup and bring home the silverware. 

What a fantastic way to sign off the sporting events for this school year! Well done lads!
